Thesis title: "Role of arginase activity in the development of metabolic liver disease"

Thesis outline: Despite numerous studies focused on the metabolic alterations associated with the development of metabolic liver diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and alcoholic liver disease (ALD), molecular mechanisms involved have not yet been fully understood, and besides life-style interventions, universally accepted therapies for these diseases are still missing. The main research focus of my thesis is the role of arginase activity in the development of metabolic liver diseases.
