Report

I had the opportunity to attend the 19th Congress of the Austrian Sport Science Association (ÖSG), which took place from 26–28 September 2024 at the University of Innsbruck. The congress focused on the theme "Embracing Interdisciplinarity in Sports Science" and covered a wide range of topics from the fields of biomechanics, sports management, exercise science and medicine, sociology, and more.

The event featured keynote speeches from prominent speakers such as Sigmund Loland and Yolanda Demetriou. These sessions provided valuable insights into different perspectives on interdisciplinary approaches in sports science. The networking opportunities with leading academics in my field were a particular highlight, as the congress offered many occasions to connect with other researchers.

In addition to attending the sessions, I had the opportunity to present my research entitled “Assessment of Postural Sway with Accelerometers: A Comparison with Force Plate Measures”, to a broad scientific audience. I received valuable feedback on open questions and engaged in productive discussions about further research ideas in this area.

I am confident that the insights and connections made during the congress will enhance my work moving forward.

I am sincerely grateful for the financial support provided by the PhaNuSpo Travel Grant, which enabled me to participate in this event.
