- Period of stay: 26 to 29 September 2024
Report
During the last two weekends of September, I had the opportunity to attend the 4th Junior Symposium of the Scientific Council of the DGSP (German Society for Sports Medicine and Prevention) at the Institute for Exercise and Occupational Medicine in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, as well as the ÖSG (Austrian Sport Science Association) Congress in Innsbruck, Austria. It was a pleasure to present my preliminary findings through both a poster and an oral presentation. These findings suggest that collagen peptides, in combination with long-term resistance training, could be beneficial for building strength and lean mass, and thus could potentially contribute to metabolic health.
At both conferences, I also took advantage of the opportunity to participate in workshops, which provided valuable insights that will aid my research work. Equally enriching was the exchange with familiar as well as new colleagues, which might have sparked ideas for future projects. Outside the presentations, it was also very enjoyable to get to know different personalities more closely during the conference dinners. Overall, I am grateful to have been able to share my work with the scientific community in my field and for the exciting input from other speakers.
In particular, I would like to thank the PhaNuSpo for the PhaNuSpo Travel Grant, which provided me with financial support for my trip to Innsbruck.
