Report

From November 3rd to 5th, I attended the 28th Cell Communication Summit in Weimar, Germany. The meeting brought together researchers working on various aspects of signal transduction, including inflammation, cell stress, and neuronal signalling.

During the conference, I gave an oral presentation titled “Characterisation of the honokiol derivative LRK071 as a dual-specific RXR agonist and PDE4 inhibitor.” It was my first oral presentation at a scientific meeting and a valuable opportunity to present my research to an expert audience. The subsequent discussions and feedback offered useful perspectives for refining my work and considering future directions.

In addition to my presentation, I attended several sessions covering current developments in the field of cell communication. These talks provided an overview of ongoing research and methodological approaches relevant to my own work and were valuable for broadening my understanding of related signalling mechanisms. Conversations with other participants, including both doctoral researchers and senior scientists, allowed for an exchange of experiences and information about different research focuses and career paths.

Overall, attending the Cell Communication Summit was a valuable and constructive experience at the final stage of my PhD, helping me to situate my research within the broader context of signal transduction studies. I appreciate the support from the PhaNuSpo Doctoral School, which made my participation possible.
