Professorship Molecular Nutritional Sciences

The main research interest of my group is the dissection of molecular mechanisms of liver diseases (non alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease) in different model systems. We work on the development of nutrition-based prevention and therapy of liver diseases as well as dissect the influence of food constituents/alcohol or age on intestinal barrier function and the gut/liver axis.
