PhaNuSpo Completion Grants

The Vienna Doctoral School of Pharmaceutical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences financially supports their doctoral students in the final phase of their doctoral studies with the "PhaNuSpo Completion Scholarship" and the "PhaNuSpo Short-term Finishing Contract" schemes. At the time of application, work on the dissertation must have progressed to such an extent that the submission of the completed dissertation can be expected by the end of the funding period at the latest.

  1. PhaNuSpo Completion Scholarships (maximum duration of six months) are dedicated to PhaNuSpo students who have not been employed by the University of Vienna for at least six months before the start of the scholarship (more information).
  2. PhaNuSpo Short-term Finishing Contracts (maximum duration of three months) are offered to PhaNuSpo students who have been employed by the University of Vienna within six months before the start of the contract (more information).

The call for applications for the two funding schemes is planned to be published once a year.

Selection process

The Completion Scholarships and Short-term Finishing Contracts will be awarded competitively on the basis of the submitted documents and within the financial limits of this funding programme. Candidates are selected by a jury consisting of experts from the respective disciplines in our doctoral school. The jury will discuss and compare the applications and decide which projects will be funded within the financial limits of the Completion Grant funding programme.

How to contact us

If you are not sure which funding scheme to apply for, please contact Isolde Prommer (vds.phanupso@univie.ac.at). Please note that doctoral students can only be funded once during the final phase of their studies, either through the "PhaNuSpo Completion Scholarship" or the "PhaNuSpo Short-term Finishing Contract".

Gender equality, diversity and non-discrimination

The University of Vienna has an anti-discriminatory employment policy and attaches great importance to equal opportunities, the advancement of women and diversity. We lay special emphasis on increasing the number of women in senior and in academic positions among the academic and general university staff and therefore expressly encourage qualified women to apply. Given equal qualifications, preference will be given to female candidates.

PhaNuSpo’s commitment to equal opportunities will take into account any breaks or delays in the applicant’s progress through his/her studies (e.g. due to parental leave, long-term or chronic illness or caring responsibilities).
