Thesis title: "The impact of moderatly elevated bilirubin levels on metabolic health"
Thesis outline: My dissertation project is part of the BiliMetHealth (Bilirubin and Metabolic Health) project funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Therefore, a human case-control study is conducted where people with Gilbert’s syndrome (GS) and age- and gender matched controls are included. Participants have to complete two metabolic flexibility challenges, an exercise challenge and an oral glucose tolerance test. The goal is to investigate the effect of moderately elevated bilirubin levels, as observed in GS, on metabolic health, exercise performance and oxidative stress markers.
