Thesis title: Targeting RORγ(t) with natural and semisynthetic ligands.
Thesis outline: The retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptors (ROR) α, β, and γ are a subfamily of nuclear receptors. As such, they are ligand-dependent transcription factors, and their activity is associated with several physiological processes, including circadian rhythm, glucose metabolism, and immunity. Identifying and characterizing new natural compounds as ROR ligands would provide valuable tools for developing novel drugs in these contexts.
