Thesis title: "Performance diagnostics in elite sports: Examination of Various Methods and Procedures for Assessing Performance & Performance Development"
Thesis outline: The overarching goal of this innovative research project is to make life easier and better for athletes and coaches. Therefore, the focus lies on developing solutions that optimise day-to-day training, improve performance and meet the physical and mental demands of athletes. The plan is to integrate new
technologies and methods to optimise the analysis and training of athletes. The research results should provide efficient, practical solutions that facilitate both athlete development and the work of coaches. This work will this not only provide new scientific knowledge, but also an practical added value for the world of sport.
A central role will play the cooperation with renowned partners from the fields of sport (SK Rapid Wien (women's and men's football) and the Austrian Rowing Association) and will be backed by the expertise of scientists such as Prof. Nikolaus Hautsch (developer of the AIROW - Artificial Intelligence in Rowing concept, Department of Statistics and Operations Research, University of Vienna), Prof. Gunnar Treff (PMU and LBI-DHP, Austria), Prof. Kai Röcker (Hochschule Furtwangen, Germany) and Dr. Dieter Lagerstrøm.
