Research
My current research projects are in the field of education and socialization research in various sports contexts. My research focuses on “Heterogeneity and diversity in (school) sports”, “Sports and health”, “Informal youth sports”, “Sports, exercise, and health in prisons”, and “Adventure sports.” Across all studies, vulnerable and socially marginalized groups are the focus of my research. I am currently also conducting research in the field of elite sports, particularly with regard to the mental health of young competitive athletes. My methodological approach is predominantly qualitative, I have particular expertise in sports ethnographic research. My research interest lies primarily in reconstructing the perspectives of those involved in sports.
