Annual PhaNuSpo Retreat 2025

• For jury members:
  
  • Mid-June: Online meeting on evaluation procedure and evaluation criteria.
  • 19–24 September 2025: self-paced evaluation of criteria 1 and 2 (content/comprehensibility and design). You will have online access to the posters.
  • 25 September 2025: During the poster session you evaluate criterion 3 (presentation).
• For poster authors:
  • Download the coporate design poster template from the u:rise Retreat course page.
    
  • Submit/upload your poster in PDF format by noon on 18 September 2025 at the latest, via the u:rise Retreat course moodle page (link to follow).
  • The posters will be printed by the doc school and will be transported to the retreat site.
• For University of Vienna scientific staff (PhD candidates & PIs):
  • The retreat days will not be deducted from your annual leave.
  • Download the PA/F7 form "Antrag auf Freistellung / Application of Leave and Absence (LOA)" according to your departmental affiliation. Complete page 1: your personal data and email contact and sign
    • Staff of the Departments of Nutritional and Pharmaceutical Sciences: Upload the form via the u:rise course page (LINK to follolw) by 11 September at the latest. We will collect the signatures from subunit and organisational unit.
    • Staff of the Centre for Sport Science: Please follow the usual procedure to collect all signatures. Thank you very much.

The retreat is for doctoral candidates and supervisors/ PIs who are members of the VDS-PhaNuSpo and invited guests.

• Registration on u:rise, extented until 7 April 2025.

• Date: Thursday 25 Sep 2025 (departure 8:30am) to Friday 26 Sep 2025 (departure around 3:30pm), organised bus transfers to and from 1090 Vienna (UZAII).
• Where: Naturhotel Steinschaler Dörfl in Frankenfels.
• Who: All interested PhaNuSpo PhD and PI members (= signed Code of Good Practice for Doctoral Schools), the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and invited experts.
• Childcare during the retreat (e.g. by partner, costs are funded).
• Programme: An active contribution is expected as well as active participation throughout the retreat. Planned for day 1 - Poster / Flash Talk Sessions, Pnale discussion, Day 2 - for PhDs Career Talks and  Workshop on time mangement or similar with invited expert, for Pis workshop on Supervison (Markus Böckle)
• ECTS credits: Active participation 1 ECTS, additional 2 ECTS for poster presentation/evaluation.
• Prizes for best poster presentations.
• Costs: Free for PhaNuSpo members, SAB and invited guests. Costs for transfers, accommodation, meals, coffee breaks and group activities are covered by PhaNuSpo.
