Thesis title: "Traditional herbal medicines for wound healing: phytochemical profiling and activity screening"

Thesis outline: Extracts made from different traditionally used plants are analysed concerning their wound healing bioactivity, which is traced by in vitro experiments on fibroblasts and keratinocytes. The most bioactive extracts undergo bioactivity guided fractionation in order to isolate, identify and quantify pure substances. Taken together, this project sheds light on the active principles and mechanisms of traditionally used natural products and contributes to explain the long standing usage of these herbal preparations.
